During a recent trip to Minneapolis, the gang and I visited quaint and historic,

Hotel Note: If in need of accommodations while visiting Stillwater, why not try one of their many Victorian B & Bs, like Aurora Staples Inn?

Stillwater, MN. Set along the banks of the St. Croix River (that's Wisconsin on the other side - who knew?)...

...we dropped by the Dock Cafe for lunch.

Sitting outside, the setting is quite beautiful...and just up the river a bit are the paddle boats you can take a ride on. Although Wall-eye is the "official" fish of MN...we opted for...

Shrimp tacos
...the shrimp tacos with avocado puree, pico de gallo, citrus sour cream, queso fresco, lettuce served on flour tortillas. Fresh and crunchy, the deep fried shrimp were perfectly balanced with the veggies, cheese and salsa.

Grilled salmon sandwich
Next up, the grilled salmon on ciabatta. Served open-faced with cucumber dill cream cheese, red pepper, onion and a spring mix drizzled with balsamic vinegar and served with fries - this was another hit.

Crab cakes
And homemade crab cakes with a red pepper yogurt sauce with asparagus garnish. The lunch was topped off with homemade lemonade and a bottle of Casa Lapastole, Chile 2013. It was a beautiful and scrumptious afternoon lunch along the shores of the St. Croix River.

Bon Appétit!
